Ubora Adventures

Who we are

Education, Conservation, Sustainability

Ubora Adventures aims to operate differently than our competitors. The Safari Industry has a harsh impact on our natural ecosystems and native communities.  Pollution, habitat loss, soil erosion, and increased stress on endangered species is becoming more prevalent as the industry grows. Ubora adventures is committed to operating in accordance with all environmental conservation standards set by Tanzania National Parks Authority.  We commit to continuous improvement of our environmental protection practices including the wise stewardship of natural resources and native communities.

Ubora means quality in Swahili, which is exactly our goal at Ubora Adventures. We started Ubora Adventures as a pure passion project. Christopher, our founder,  wanted travelers from all around the world to be able to experience the real Tanzania that he grew up in and loves so much. Tanzania is one of the most beautiful and diverse countries in the world, and there is no lack of amazement around every corner.

We are specifically committed to: –

  • The conservation of natural resources through careful planning.
  • The minimization of waste through reuse and recycling. You will be provided a reusable water bottle upon arrival.
  • The handling and disposal of waste through environmentally sustainable methods.
  • The annual review of our Environmental Management Practices to ensure that it is appropriate for the nature, scale and environmental impacts of our activities
  • Training and encouraging our guides to conduct their tours in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.
  • Requiring our business partners to maintain the same high levels of environmental protection standards.
  • Ubora Adventures is responsible for monitoring the Company’s sustainability, environmental, and social responsibility activities.

MEET OUR TEAM

Spencer has been with the company since its founding. In the beginning of 2022, Spencer jumped on a plane from Austin Texas and landed in Tanzania to expand his horizons and passion for travel and wildlife. After arriving, he quickly realized Tanzania was where he wanted to call home and decided to get into the safari business. Spencer’s passion for the outdoors started very young and was enhanced through his experience living in Estes Park Colorado and working with the National Park Service. Following this, he jumped on a plane as often as possible to see the world. With the experiences he has gained so far, he knows that he has to share the wonders of East Africa with others.

Chris is a Tanzanian native, born and raised in Dar es Salaam. He grew up spending his time traveling around Tanzania with his parents and visiting the United States where he has family. He studied architecture at MIT, finding this to be his true passion. Having deep roots in Tanzania allowed him to gather an understanding of the way Tanzania functions, both naturally and culturally. Christopher is very close with many local communities, some being the Datooga and Maasai tribes and even holds the nickname Lemode (ask what it means later). He wanted to start a tourism company to share his land with people from all parts of the globe in hopes that they will grow the same strong love for stunning Tanzania and understand the importance of conservation.  A lifetime of deep connection with the natural world and the diverse people of Africa has given Chris the knowledge necessary to run a tourism company that truly delivers value to both locals and foreigners.

Impact of tourism in tanzania

The impact the safari industry has on nature and the native communities that are visited is large, and not always good. Large scale tourism can lead to a cluster of problems including environmental issues, cultural pollution, and increased stress on wildlife and resources. Constantly visiting the same communities can create financial tourism reliance that can lead people away from their individual culture, and this is where we stand apart from our competition. We pledge to constantly change our areas of operation in order to eliminate financial reliance on our company.

Respectful use, Conscious morals, Positive outcome for everyone.
