Our experienced guides will lead you through this unique safari experience, making sure you have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture and nature of northern Tanzania.

Day 1:

On the first day of the trip, you will be greeted by a guide from Ubora Adventures and taken to the Africa Amini Maasai Lodge which is operated by the local Maasai people of Arusha. During the afternoon, you will have the chance to participate in various traditional Maasai-led activities, such as nature walks, spear throwing, handcrafting lessons, and a sunset singing and dancing ceremony. After the ceremony, you will return to your traditional Maasai hut which offers an authentic experience with comfortable amenities.

Day 2:

After breakfast, you will depart from Arusha for a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park that takes you through Maasai villages and beautiful sprawling plains.  Upon entering the park, you will begin a game drive through the landscape of golden savannah and the next to the Tarangire River. The river runs throughout the year and supports a diverse range of animals, including elephants, zebras, antelopes, and more. Around 12:30 pm, you will have a delicious bush lunch along the banks of the river provided by a local cafe in Arusha. After we finish lunch, we will continue with our game drive where you will have the chance to see various predators such as Lions, Leopards, and Cape Buffalo, as well as endangered animals like the Greater Kudu and the Fringe-Eared Oryx. After your drive, you will return to your accommodation for the evening.

Day 3:

After a delicious breakfast, you will head to the Ngorongoro Crater which is known for its diverse array of wildlife and is often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the World. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to over 120 species of mammals, including the Big Five (Lions, Leopards, Rhinoceroses, Elephants, and Cape Buffalo), as well as a large population of predators such as Cheetahs, Jackals, and Hyenas. You will have the opportunity to observe and photograph these animals from the comfort of our open-top vehicle. After a picnic lunch by the park’s famous hippo pool, we will continue with our game drive in search of the elusive Black Rhino. When our game drive comes to an end we will return to the rim of the crater and check into our accommodation for the night, have dinner, and retire to our rooms.

Day 4:

We will start our day with an early breakfast and coffee/tea at our accommodation. Hereafter we will get into the vehicle and travel to Lake Eyasi (approx. 2 hours) where we will meet some members of the Hadzabe and Datooga tribes. The Hadzabe are a small tribe of hunter-gatherers who live in the lake’s surrounding forests and are known for their resourcefulness and hunting skills. The Hadzabe are a fascinating group that offer a glimpse into the past and the traditional way of life in Tanzania. Today you will have the opportunity to see the tribesmen demonstrate their hunting techniques that are used to feed their families. Following an active day, we will travel to Mto Wa Mbu for dinner at a lodge in town and overnight accommodation.

Day 5:

To begin our day we will have breakfast and embark on a local market tour in Mto Wa Mbu where visitors can purchase a variety of goods such as handmade crafts, clothing, and fresh produce. Following the market tour we will travel to the gates of Lake Manyara national park where we will spend our day. The park is known for its diverse wildlife,  stunning landscapes, and tree-climbing lions! As you explore the park, you will have the opportunity to see a variety of animals including lions, leopards, elephants, zebra, and more. Around midday, we will take a break for lunch at one of the park’s designated picnic areas to relax before we continue our game drive. The afternoon will be spent exploring different parts of the park and searching for more wildlife until it’s time to return to our accommodation for the night.

Day 6:

Begin our last day on safari with a sunrise breakfast and morning game drive to feel the cool fresh air of  Lake Manyara one last time. After we conclude we will travel back to Arusha where you will either have the option to book accommodation or be dropped off at the airport in time for your flight.
